Manehattan. A place where the slightest hint of anything fishy would cause rumors of misdeeds and embarrassing details to be spread into the public masses. While most weren't even close to being true, some rumors actually did bear a sense of belief with them, and if proven to be fact, it would mean utter humiliation and isolation for that specific unlucky pony. Yet, where one pony falls to ashes, another takes their place, and to a potential rival, knowing your opponent's darkest secrets means getting the upper hoof. It is here that, in a small bar on the edge of Manehatten, that a Draco resides, sipping down a cold Apple Cider, while tossing an Macintosh in his hoof while he sat at a lowly corner table, away from prying eyes, and attention of others. His Garnet eyes, a feature that seemed to hide a part of himself, scanned across the room, searching to a particular pony. A client of sorts, who requested his services on some kind of scheme. Being the pony he was, False looked back down at a folder. A small one, amidst some others that he usually took with him, and looked at what he had gathered on his supposed client, a Mobster. Somepony by the name Shaker Down, a Stallion that had just recently went into the Red light district looking to expand, and came back out with a stab wound that, along with his eye, made him look somewhat like a frankenpony. Leaning back in his seat, the tooth-pick chewing stallion sighed, chuckling slightly, tossing that apple still, as he waited for his next customer. |

Saying that he was in a bad mood would be putting it lightly. Shaker Down had been furious from the moment he had been forced to retreat from Red Light. He hadn't felt so embarrassed in years. The grinding of his teeth was audible and none of his men had the courage to speak. There was only one way for him to deal with this embarrassment. He had to find the pony who caused it and repay them ten fold, a thousand fold even. Thus is the reason why he decided to come to this rinky dink little hole in the wall at the fringe of Manehattan alone, no need to involve his men in this. The unicorn stallion walked in with a large carrying case over his back. He heard through the grapevine that this pony he was meeting would be able to help him. A draco if he remembered correctly, his lone eye searched the place. Spotting the lone pony at a corner table tossing an apple made Shake cringe internally. He can literally feel his hair bristle at the sight of the Macintosh. Stalking his way to the table he took a seat across from the Draco, placing the carrying case at his side. "I take it you're the bloke who's suppose to have info that I can use?" |

False smirked, as seeing his clients reaction to his current fruity ball was one he had been expecting, and proving it was true made it easier to get what he wanted in case this stallion was the bartering type. "Bloke?" he said, raising an eyebrow with amusement written all over his face, before tilting his fedora up so he could see Shaker, "I assure you Shaker Down, that I am not some bloke. I'm a Broker, specifically of information that, in your hooves....might prove to help in your "ongoing expansion" in the red light district. With a Chuckle, False Took a Bite out of his apple, smiling at Shaker while holding out a hoof, "But of course....it's rude of me not to introduce myself. The name is False Lead, or The Scarlet Broker if you prefer my not so intimidating title." |

Glancing at the hoof but still keeping the apple in his vision, Shaker just settled for a curt nod. The smell of apple cider made him nearly gag but he kept himself in check. His bad mood was already increasing but he tried to at least keep his business face on. "Now that we got the useless greetings out of the way, let's talk business. There is a mare I want you to find. Ruby Nights. I want any info you have on her. Where she's been, who she's talked to, who she's done business with." The grinding sound returned with a vengeance as his one good eye seemed to cloud lightly. Even if it had been months since it's happened, the rage he felt still burned hotly. "Me and her ain't done yet by a long shot. No pony pulls one over on me. Red Light is taking a back seat to this. Can you get what I want...Mr. Broker?" |

False Smiled with a glint of malice in his eyes. Revenge was his favourite form of information gathering, for it meant that the pony was desperate, had already been burned by his target, or both. Either way, False was now fully interested in what Shaker wanted done. "Haha, well you came to the right place Shaker, as revenge happens to be my faaaavorite form of business. So She's the one that stabbed you I'm guessing huh? The one who..."Jabbed you" a "hole" new look on life" He says, chuckling at every horrible pun that he makes, soon settling down,"In all seriousness though, yes....I can do the grunt work for you. Just make sure that 1. I am not involved in anyways with what happens to this mare, 2. Don't try to burn me by sending me in to get...butchered by this mare, as by the way she handled you, I'm pretty sure i'll be in some gryphons burger pretty soon, and 3. When I am done....don't you go tying up loose ends on me, because the moment you try a thing like that....everypony across Equestria will know all about you and your humiliating first mugging, your hilarious apple allergy, and the object of your lust for vengeance for stopping you and the mob from expanding into Canterlot." He gave Shaker a stern look, his brow furrowed along with narrowed eyes, finishing off the tangent with "Now....if you are okay with my rules....then all I need now is my pay. My services start..." he sighs as he leans back, returning to his drink as he looks around the bar again, "when I get mmmmm.....60,000 bits." |

Shaker Down felt himself bristle at the words coming from the broker. He seemed to find more ponies not taking him seriously. This Draco even had the nerve to joke about what Ruby did to him. Slamming his hooves to the table he stood up with a snarl. "She didn't beat me! She ain't win that fight! The bitch got lucky and that is about to run out. Keep that straight boyo." He was about to take his seat until he heard the rules that the stallion before him laid down. His one working eye narrowed dangerously with the rage moving off of his face settling into a burning simmer. "You...you think I'm some kind of joke? You...you got some stones there. I admit I do admire that but...tell me. Do I look like the kind of pony who kills somepony to tie up loose ends? No, I ain't, but you do know an awful lot about me. So you must know what happened to the pony that took my eye...right?" |

"I don't need to know shaker" he said with a smirk, a determined gaze in his eyes, "part of my job is to read ponies as well, so I can assume that the pony met a horrible ending." He soon sat up properly again, this time with a little impatience in his voice "now....When am I going to get my pay?" |

"No actually that pony is still alive till this day. As for your pay, you drive a high price. I hope you are worth that much." His horn glowed a dull green, as he lifted the large carrying case over towards False. With a set combination on it, he swiftly undid it to show him the massive amounts of bits that laid inside of it for a brief moment. Snapping it back closed the mobster leaned back in his chair. "Half now, other half when you finish. Just to make sure you don't think about splitting early. You are pricey Mister Broker and I want my moneys worth. Or, despite your earlier warnings to me, I will make sure you suffer for the rest of your agonizing life just like the fuck who took my eye. As a business pony, I am a stallion of my word after all." |

Upon seeing the payment dropped on the table, False tipped his hat at shaker, his smile hiding his rather annoyed mood. It was obvious to him that he might have had too much fun teasing the unicorn, and thus caused him to issue such an ultimatum. It was always worrisome, especially if this guy was as threatening as he seemed. Quickly thinking up ways to protect himself in case it went ary, he held out his hoof "ay ay one eye....My services are now yours" he said, smiling with devious undertones, "anything you have on her that might help me out? Don't want to be chasing a ghost now do I?" |

Reigning in his temper, Shaker took a deep calming breath. He should allow himself to fly off the handle so easily. Closing his eye and ignoring the one eye comment the mobster gave a nod of his head. "I hear word that she is a thief and has made a couple of hits in Canterlot as well as Manehattan. She's a crafty earth pony, don't let your guard down round her. Hear she is good at slipping away as well, but from you tell me, that shouldn't be a problem for you." He snorted moving to pat the case he still held in his magical grasp. A subtle reminder of the amount of bits False was due should he be successful. Shaker was itching for another meeting with that slippery thief. This time with no tricks and interruptions. "If you can find her and all you can bout her fast enough, I have a little something extra prepared for you as a reward." |
