DANCING ON, DANCING ON, DANCING ON RAIN---
"Don't worry about that," Skylark returned, a glass of water with him that he freely offered to the mare. "Food is pretty replaceable."

He gauged Lamplight, fairly sure that she wouldn't bother to introduce herself and fairly sure the mare hadn't done so either despite his offering his own name early. He paused a moment to set the first aid kit beside Lamplight before leaning against the arm of a chair and tilting his head back to watch the medical work.

"Would you mind telling me what that scene in the alleyway was about?"

Viola stared at Skylark with a curious expression, as one might examine a colourful shell or insect they had found, before dropping her gaze to the glass. The slight glitter of magic lifted it from Skylark to her lips, where she sipped it demurely.

Despite the lack of a horn, the glass hovered in place without much issue, though wobbling a little - and as she set the glass aside, the orb glowed a touch brighter than before, shedding layers of mist that disappeared within an inch of its surface. The only other sensation was a slight chill, an almost static charge in the air, until Viola set the glass aside, at which point it abruptly ceased.

"Thank you. The fight was...my fault. All I told him was the truth - I told him he would not live through this night, unless he fled from his post. He took it as a threat." She glanced away, guilt marring her features for a moment.

Lamplight shot Sky a look. What was he up to bringing this mare here? She had gathered enough from their exchange before entering this room that this was another one of those "Airheart situations". In silence, she looked over Viola's wounds and began to apply the necessities.

She prepared the bottle of disinfectant, tilting it against a gauze pad to soak it in the solution, before brushing it against each of Viola's visible injuries. If Viola showed any amount of pain to this action, Lamplight showed apathy in her endeavor. She turned her attention to the swelling joint by folding an ice pack found within the kit, triggering the chemicals, and then placing it flat on the wound before taping it in position. Finally, she stood unceremoniously and packed away the remainder of the first aid kit, placing it on an end table of the sofa when she was finished.

She looked more at Skylark than the mare as she spoke, "You shouldn't walk on that for a time. As it stands, you're hurt. You were brought here. You obviously have some magic that doesn't make sense." She sighed. "And we can't help you without more details."

Skylark returned the stare from Lamplight with a shrug and a nod. "This is Lamplight, and I'm Skylark. We're.. helpers. We've taken a vow to stop injustice at the root, and I think you might be someone who needs that."

He paused to sit down and think for a moment on Viola's words. Finally, he turned back toward her. "So it wasn't a threat - it was a warning?"

Viola glanced towards Lamplight, giving a grateful nod. "I appreciate the assistance." Carefully, she lowered her hoof, resting it against the floor but not putting her weight on the injured limb.

"A warning..." she glanced towards the orb, and with a toss of her hoof, urged it forward for them to see. "I don't know much of the 'why', but...my orb allows me sight of...other things. The past, the future. When I saw him, I glimpsed a sight. Bricks, plants, and his body, unmoving...I could not let the concern go unvoiced." She grimaced, shaking her head a little. "It was a mistake, but perhaps I have altered his path regardless."

"Maybe phrasing things in ways that sound like threats is a bad idea," Lamplight deadpanned with another sigh under her breath. "It's good of you to try to save someone, but messing with the predestined path of others is bad business. He was supposed to die? Then he'll die regardless. All you've done is delay and change the method."

She turned toward Skylark and exchanged a look with him again before leaving the room temporarily to put away the medkit, and start some tea in the kettle.

Curious. He could say that these kind of things didn't exist, but Lamplight was in the room, and she had magic he'd never seen the like of. He, himself, was a pegasus in an earth body. Going along with it seemed easier. He let her finish explaining, than let Lamplight do that thing where she complicates the issue because she knows more about it. He was used to that. Not arrogance. Just understanding. He wouldn't question Lamplight's knowledge of obscure facts.

"Destiny, huh? So that thing can see futures? Like... any future? ... Even mine?"

Viola glanced across at Lamplight, irritation tinting her features. "All must face death eventually. I may have bought him hours or decades, I can not tell." With that, her gaze turned upon Skylark with softened expression, yet still obviously annoyed. "It allows me to see ahead, no other. I cannot often control the when and where...however, I can try, if you seek to know what you have in store. It would be at least repayment for your help."

He watched Lamplight leave, then paused to apologize. "Forgive her. She's not trying to be rude. She's just very... true. She doesn't beat around her point, and I've learned to find her very trustworthy because of it. She means well, even if she has trouble saying it nicely." He stared back toward the entrance Lamplight had left through and sighed. In his short time in this house, he'd learned to trust her more than the rest of the group based entirely on her resolve and wisdom. If she thought this was a bad idea, it probably was. But still... as long as he didn't act on it, it didn't hurt anything. You make up the future as you go along regardless.

"And sure," he answered Viola with a smug smile. "What's the honest harm in trying?"
