"H-hey! LET ME GO. LET ME GO RIGHT NOW. I CAN FIGHT. I AM THE BEST FIGHTER. I HAVE THE BEST FIGHTS, STONE. STOOOONE."

Annnnnd he was gone. Kicking and fitting as Stone carried him up a floor and out of view. On Eponine's shoulder, Grass looked at her and let out a little tiger chuff, eyeing the mage then eyeing the attackers.

It was a mess of bodies clamoring over each others, pushing others out of the way and small fights springing up between each other. A good amount was on the line and most of them weren't keen on sharing with anyone. The Goetian shook her head seeing them starting to from her and narrowed her eyes. Too many bodies in the way was making it hard to keep track of them. Sparks flew from her fingers and several charred bodies fell out of her way.

"Damn. Brick after them. You and me can split the bounty down the middle. Just get those little rats before they get away."

The massive hose of a Wyrve stepped over and on those who backed into his path and made a b-line towards the stairs. It would be easy money the moment he caught them but such tight spaces didn't do help, smashing another thug out of his way into a wall with a glare.

"Gonna kill at least one of them before this is done. Such a pain... Get back here you little shits...please don't make me chase you. Dang it."

The mistakable sound of shattering glass provided Hookshot the way path into the mansion they needed. Galloping to the side of the roof, a quick glance down revealed a second floor balcony, which some resourceful icarai had already chosen as their own method of attack. As it turned out, even those with wings neglected to look up. The last one to head through the shattered door found himself suddenly jerked upwards by a rope around his wings, and a punch in the face silenced him before he could shout loud enough over the din of combat below to warn his companions.

...Maybe a few punches. Shot was a little angry.

They dropped down onto the balcony and walked into the mansion, Hook's talons clicking on the floor. A quick glance down the hallway showed no immediate sign of the other intruders, so they loped down the hall, looking for their friends. "Let them know we're here, Hook."

The gryphon's characteristic ear-piercing screech rang through the hallways of the mansion. If that didn't get some attention, nothing would.

Free of her burden, Eponine walked, half carried by some unseen force, to the front of the group, moving past Leon. She pulled her hood up over raven hair and her eyes started to darken until the bloodshot irises filled and blotted out the whites. Her skin paled as blood warmed the very tips of her fingers, and lit ablaze the constellation on her forehead with a trembling, cold energy.

"Go now. While there remains time."

She spoke to no one, and no one present would recognize the deepening, booming sound as the voice of this frail Asian girl who spoke from under the hood, but still, they would be fools not to listen. The walls of the foyer rattled with energy as those hollow eyes found the wyvre boss.

"If you cross the threshold," she warned, open-ended, simply waving a hand before her and letting a dark mist start to rise from the floorboards before the enemy.

He was getting closer and soon enough they wouldn't have anywhere to go. This would be the easiest money he had ever made. Soon as they were in reach it would be done but suddenly this small waif of a girl stood before him. Blinking slowly he looked around...nope it was just her standing before him. A low rumble like the sound of rocks smashing together escaped his throat.

"Really? Really? Just you? If you know what is good for you little thing, then you'd be running. I've wasted enough time dealing with the annoyances of the others."

The walls rattled and that gave him a slight pause. Confused he glanced around to see what caused it. He shook his head, this place must be falling apart. Not important. But the dark mist was something new. He felt a small chill in the air but quickly quashed that feeling with a snarl.

"You think this magic trick is going to stop me? What ever tricks you have little girl is not going to save you. I'm going to pull you apart with my bare hands." No plan, no finesse, no trickery, he charged forward like an angry bull raising both of his hands ready to try and smash her the moment he got into range.

"NOW!" Aerie yelled, flying forward, bounding, nothing touching the floor, as she carried her singed mace forward and swung it with all the lightning in the swing that could be spun from the air between her and where Nine stood. As the mace hit the conjured mist, it exploded into sparks and a ball of lightning that flew toward the attacker.

Aerie spun on her heels and bolted up the stairs, grabbing Leon's wrist and taking him with her. "There is a fire in the hole! We must have cover!"

"Nnnngh! Let... le... let me... go... I--"

Uuugh the headruuuush. All at once he convulsed so sudden that he jerked off of Dwayne's shoulder and thumped to the floor. Downstairs, beside Eponine, Grass fell off where he had been clinging to Nine's cloak and whimpered in a low, dying whine. Upstairs, Hopper tried to sit up but instead only arched his back as he groaned loud into his forearm as he rested on it. The fever pitched and his vision blurred, head pounded, chest tightened.

He scarcely heard the screech. He wasn't even sure it was a real noise or one of the hallucinations in his head but he sat up and yelled as loudly as he could: "HOOK! SHOT!...WE... we're... here..." And then he slumped over again, the fever taking him far away. Before his vision faded, Grass, the tiny gryphon, let out a screech in return to pierced the walls.

DANCING ON, DANCING ON, DANCING ON RAIN---
Leon was there at his side, sliding under Hopper as he fell over to catch the younger boy's fall. He gently positioned Hopper so that when Leon stood, Hopper was draped over either of Leon's arms limply. They needed distance from the stairs if Aerie just...

"You used Eponine's magic to accelerate the energy in a lightning strike?" He surmised quickly. Lightning... but faster. Hotter. It felt like the air around them had grown to a sauna. Leon paused only to look at Hopper's fragile body hanging in his arms and grimaced. They needed to get out of here, and Hopper needed more rest.

"For your sake, Hopper," he muttered to the ferverish lump he held, "I hope that really is Hookshot, because we could use an extra pair of wings to get out of here."

He motioned with a toss of his head down one hallway and took off. Space. They needed space.

Five steps, four steps, three steps, whatever she was doing wasn't going to work. One smash and this little insect will be paste. Like he had thought this was too easy, and Sparks was worried about these stupid kids and why was everything bright all of the sudden. The sound of the lighting striking rattled all of the men downstairs as the sound of something heavy crashing down in a smoking body. For awhile no one moved and just looked at the still smoking form of Brick laying at the bottom of the stairs.

"What the hell? Didn't I warn that idiot that always charging wasn't going to work. Jeez look a this mess. You four drag that back to base. Looks like this kids got some serious bite." The Goetain woman spoke with her fingers sparking. "Give a signal to the guys on the roof and get the magic users outside. We are going to riddle this place until I feel satisfied that everything inside is dead. The boss will forgive us for turning that kid into shredded paper."

"Over there! Come on, let's get th-hurk!"

The thug stared down at his chest aghast at the grappling hook piercing into his lung. A strong yank on the rope pulled him back, within reach of Hook's razor sharp claws. He didn't last long at that point. Shot yanked her hook from the corpse, spinning it around before smirking at the rest of the thugs and letting out a strange whistle. At that signal, Hook leapt forward.

It didn't matter how rough and street-hardened a criminal was. Being faced with a vicious, semi-feral beast, guided by a ruthless intellect, was a different matter altogether. They simply broke upon that assault, driven back by flashing talons, tearing beak and Shot swinging around her heavy grappling hook. In mere moments, several of them were left groaning on the floor, while others had fled in terror, even jumping out of windows to escape from the savage pair.

"Right then. Let's go find them." Hookshot loped down the hall again, heading towards the weak but still firm shout from the young pinion. "Grass! Leon!" Shot let out a sigh of relief upon seeing the two still alive. "We are glad we are not too late. What has happened here? Is it Aydan?"
