The week has been long and tiring but it was finally at an end. All the records seem to be in order, business records filed away. Certain....problems had been disposed of in the harbor. All in all it was a productive week for Aydan. Pouring one of the expensive liquors that he had on hand into a glass to help ease him into relaxation. There was just one more thing to do, there were three knocks on his door before one of his men poked his head in. "Boss your last meeting is here. Finely dressed like the others said." Aydan poured a second glass and set it opposite of him and gave him a nod to bring her in. It was rare that held such meetings like this but...this was an interesting case for him this time. The burly man moved to do as he was told swiftly as not to incite the ire of his boss. |

Diamant pulled the dark shawl tighter around her shoulders, sitting in the reception room of Silver Tide Shipping. She wasn't used to Porsteel; the bustle, the noise and the grime. She had preferred it in the day, when the bustle and brightness transformed the city streets into something magical. It was her favorite spot to go sightseeing, back then. She wasn't here for sightseeing, however; she had business to attend to. Once she was let into the office she looked around, doing her best to keep her expression neutral. "You would be Aydan, then?" she said to the rough-hewn man sitting behind the desk. "It's been quite the hassle to find you, you know. Not necessarily the best business decision." she quickly wiped down the seat offered to her before sitting down, straightening out her dress. |

"Well usually I don't get request for meetings like this. My boys usually take care such things but I felt this would require my looking into." Aydan took a long draw from his glass and sighed gently. A nice slow burn and a soothing after taste, some days he missed working behind the desk for this reason alone. He gave her a once over silently with a little bit of curiosity. No one enters his city and seeks him out without at least knowing what he does and could do. A slow smile spread across his face. "Well since it seems like you came a long way, how about we get down to business yeah? What can ol Aydan do for you? I can tell you aren't from around here and I am curious." |

Diamant nodded, taking the drink offered to her and taking a long sip. She had been prepared for this. "I tend to keep abroad," she said vaguely, giving Aydan a smile. "I understand that you're the one to go to for... discreet sales?" She pulled out her coinpurse and placed a couple of gold coins, placing them on the table. She could feel her heart beating hard against her chest; this was probably the most dangerous moment. "I've recently gained a client interested in such discretion." It had been a surprise when she'd been called by Nik asking if she still wanted to help the Gale Blades. She'd assumed that they were off gallavanting this whole time, but it turned out that they had only just recently recruited enough members to manage the ship. She'd agree to see about establishing a sales route, which had lead her to Portsteel, and into this grimy office. |

Aydan blinked his good eye for a moment before a deep rattling chuckle escaped him. His posture slid back in his seat equal parts relaxed but tinged with something dark beneath it. He was interested and things had been a little boring around these parts. Taking another slow sip before clearing his throat. "Aye, just what are your clients interested in? I have a hand in just about everything going in and out of Portsteel. Businesses, ships, supplies, you name it I either have it or can get it. It will all be discreet and untraceable so no worries. So...what are ya shopping for?" He focused his one eye on her to take in her poise. She looked confident, relaxed, liked she belong here in this kind of business. Perhaps she did seeing how she laid a few coins on the table. Even from a glance he could tell that they were of very good condition. "Ah, sorry we are hopping right into business and I never gotten your name." |

"Heidi," she lied smoothly. Hopefully her sister wouldn't mind her name being used as an alias; she didn't want to tie her real name to this in any way if she could help it, and fortunately having died a thousand years in relative anonymity, Heidi fit the bill. "Heidi Hepburn." She took another sip from her drink, finishing it off. "Primarily my client is seeking a market. As I'm sure someone in your line of work knows, most things can't simply be passed off on customs..." She gave Aydan a knowing smile, chuckling. "And the amount of product is too large for a poor girl like me to handle alone." She paused, biting her lip before considering her next move. She hadn't been given too much direction, but she did have some experience with goods from her business, so I'm sure that the Blades would find it convenient to be able to offload directly... "If you could provide us with a port to land in and offload our goods as well, it'd be appreciated? I don't know how much that would cost..." She shook the glass, listening to the clink of the ice against the edges. |

"Well you are in luck little lady. I happen to have some openings I can direct you to and I can even get you some interested buyers." He leaned back to observe her some more and crossed his arms. Moving to pour himself another drink in the process of going over what needed to be done about her other request. "Asking for port now that...that is going to cost you. To rent out a port is five grand a month easy. Now a days more and more Fae are looking to use ports to ship their things. Especially the folks out of Montpalais. I would have to know...just what do you and your friends do?" It was an innocent question phrased in an innocent way to an outsider, but those who dabble in this business can pick up the unsettling vibe that tinged it. Edited by Zox25, Fri Nov 18, 2016 5:06 pm.

She almost laughed, but managed to turn it into a small cough before she gave up her composure. What did they do, indeed... Her mind raced in a way to describe it discreetly. "Adventure would probably be how I'd describe it," she finally said wistfully, looking off into the distance. "As for the port, I'm not sure if I can convince them that cost is worth it. Perhaps we could work out a deal...?" She pursed her lips, giving Aydan a sharp look. "We are working with a fair amount of product, after all. I'm sure that we could find something to catch your interest." |

Aydan gave a light chuckle at that. "Adventure? Well alright then." This was growing more interesting by the moment and he couldn't help but be amused. Usually he wouldn't budge on the price but perhaps he could actually use this. His gloved hand stroked his chin with a slow unsettling rictus grin made it's way across his face. "Deal? Dangerous, dangerous words in this city. Fine then, let's deal. I can knock the price down to five hundred easy. But your.... friends would need to do something for me. Nothing extreme just to bring something to me that someone has been...reluctant to hand over to me. An arrangement that didn't turn out in his favor." |

This was starting to get dangerous. She wasn't sure how much she wanted to be dealing with a character like this, and making an agreement of this magnitude was risky in the best of scenarios. That was a very large discount to be offering for something "trivial..." "What... exactly would this job entail?" she said innocently, crossing her arms. "I'm not entirely sure if I should agree to anything on behalf of my client, especially without knowing any details..." |
